WARRANTY INCLUDES Hackney Contractor Service and Vending Bodies

Hackney warrants, to the original owner, that the body and applicable chassis alteration will, with reasonable care and maintenance and subject to normal intended use and service, provide dependable performance during the specified warranty period. Should any defect covered by this limited warranty develop during the warranty period, Hackney will repair or replace, at its discretion, the component at an authorized service center, or at its factory, subject to the limitations listed below:

LIMITED FIVE YEAR BODY WARRANTY

THE ALUMINUM BODY ASSEMBLY SHALL BE WARRANTED FOR A PERIOD OF (5) FIVE YEARS FROM DATE OF DELIVERY TO THE ORIGINAL PURCHASER. THE WARRANTY SHALL COVER THE STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY OF THE BODY, WHICH SHALL BE LIMITED TO STRUCTURAL CRACKS OR FAILURES THAT MAY CAUSE A LOSS OF INTEGRITY OF THE BODY. THE WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER SUPERFICIAL CRACKS OR CORROSION OF ANY COMPONENT OF THE BODY THAT IS NOT CONSIDERED, IN THE OPINION OF HACKNEY, TO CAUSE LOSS OF STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY.

LIMITED FIVE YEAR PAINT WARRANTY

The external surfaces of the body, doors and, as applicable, the cab shall be covered by a limited paint warranty for a maximum of five years from date of purchase. After the first 36 months the paint warranty is prorated at 50%. The scope of the warranty is limited to (a) peeling/ intercoat adhesion; (b) cracking; (c) crazing; (d) extensive loss of gloss; (e) chemical resistance (excluding damage caused by acid rain or exposure to caustics and acids). The warranty does not include any other type of paint-related problem including, but not limited to: (a) rust failures; (b) abrasions, scratches or chips; (c) failures on flexible parts; (d) failures related to aftermarket repairs; (e) abrasive polishing that results in reduction of top coat mil thickness; (f) extensive ultra-violent exposure (g)corrosion from dissimilar metals (h) applying or removing decals or stickers. Warranty does not apply to paint blemishes or match not noted at time of final acceptance.

LIMITED ONE YEAR ELECTRICAL WARRANTY

The electrical system shall be warranted for a period of one year from the date of delivery to the original purchaser. The warranty shall be limited to all Hackney installed wiring harnesses. The warranty does not cover circuit breakers, relays, flashers, light bulbs and fixtures and other electrical or electronic devices covered by separate component manufacturers' warranties.

STANDARD ONE YEAR WARRANTY

Covers all Hackney fabricated components and purchased components that fail or do not operate properly as a result of improper installation by Hackney, for a period of one year that are not covered by any above warranties. Items included, but not limited to, are locking devices; hinges, rollers, cables, springs, trays; shelving; mounting racks and other fabricated components.

The above limited warranties cover repair or replacement, at the sole option of Hackney for the stated periods of time beginning from the date of delivery to the original purchaser and does not cover any time span from delivery to actual in-service. The manufacturers of other equipment and components used in the manufacture of the vehicle may provide their own limited warranties or extensions. These warranties are separate from the Hackney Limited Warranty and constitute the only warranty for those specific components after the first 30 days from delivery.

What is Not Covered:

This limited warranty covers only repair or replacement of any part of a Hackney in which a defect in materials or workmanship appears within the limited warranty period, including but not limited to the following:

1. Additions or accessories not performed or installed by Hackney and any problems that occur as a result of such additions or accessories.
2. Unauthorized alteration or modification to the vehicle, chassis, or components, after the completion by Hackney, and any problems that may occur as a result of such alterations or modifications.
3. Damage caused by collision, fire, theft, vandalism, riot, explosion, acts of God, war or objects striking the vehicle.
4. Damage caused by misuse of the vehicle, such as overloading, driving over curbs, and driving off-road.
5. Damage caused by failure to follow the requirements of maintenance schedule, failure to maintain proper fluid and lubricant levels, and failure to follow operating instructions.
6. Normal maintenance such as lubrication, filter replacement, belts, hoses, and recommended torque adjustments.
7. Batteries and tires.
8. Light bulbs.
9. Towing charges and storage charges.
10. Extra expenses such as loss of vehicle use, inconvenience loss of time, vehicle rental, lodging or travel cost, etc.
11. Expenses or cost in excess of warranty coverage and pre-authorized warranty approvals.
12. Travel time and expenses to and from service facility.

Claim Responsibilities

1. The purchaser shall advise Hackney or an authorized Hackney Service center immediately of any claim believed to be covered by the provisions of this warranty. Hackney will, at its sole discretion, determine if its warranty applies and, if so determined, arrange for resolution of the claim.
2. Any unauthorized repairs made by the purchaser prior to contacting Hackney or an authorized Hackney Service Center shall become the sole liability of the purchaser, unless or until the claim is determined by Hackney to be valid.
3. All repairs, whenever possible will be completed by either Hackney or an authorized Hackney Service Center, at the discretion of Hackney. If neither of these service alternatives are practical at the time of the claim Hackney may authorize repairs to be completed locally, but only after receipt of a quotation and authorization of charges for such services by an alternate service agency.

Hackney reserves the right to accept or reject any warranty claim. All decisions made by Hackney regarding a warranty claim shall become final and binding on all parties. Any gratuitous settlements by Hackney of alleged defects not within the scope of this limited warranty do not constitute admissions of warranty coverage nor impose any obligations on Hackney to make any other such settlements. Hackney may make changes in design or standard equipment at any time without notice and incurs no obligations to apply the same to any vehicle previously produced.
